Melissa Lauer is terrible at writing bios. She is also a sophomore at the University of Iowa and, as of spring 2016, the secretary of the English Society. She is currently majoring in Studio Arts and English and Creative Writing, minoring in History, and working as both a writing fellow and an apprentice book-healer in the Main Library’s Conservation Lab. Melissa spends her time consuming stories of all forms, photographing abandoned places, and wandering about – usually thanks to her horrible sense of direction. Melissa is otherwise known as a collector of peculiar words, a notorious serial plant murder, and an admirer of old and unusual things.
