Inspiration Series: Prof. Loren Glass

TIME CHANGE: This event will start at 7:00pm, not the usual 7:30.

Loren Glass is the current Chair of the Department of English at the University of Iowa. In addition to being Professor and Chair of the Department, Prof. Glass holds a joint appointment with the UI Center for the Book.

From his bio: “In both my teaching and my scholarship, I find myself centrally engaged with the relationship between literature and popular culture, mostly, though not exclusively, in the twentieth-century United States...my approach to this relationship combines sociological analysis of the cultural field with close readings of individual texts.”

Join at https://www.bit.ly/engsoczoom. Prof. Glass will begin with a short introduction and then you can ask your questions over the call or in the chat!

The English Society's Inspiration Series is a set of faculty conversations where students can learn more about their professors’ lives and work. In a laid-back, casual Q&A setting, we get the chance to get to know our faculty better as the people they are. The conversation is often funny, often emotional, and always... inspiring!
