Scary Movie Screening w/ Prof. Creekmur

Join us for a Spooky Scary Movie Night! We’ll be screening the popular 2017 film Get Out, directed by Jordan Peele. To introduce the film, we’re pleased to welcome Prof. Corey Creekmur back to the English Society! Prof. Creekmur will give a (spoiler-free!) talk about Get Out and its place among horror films, and then we’ll enjoy the movie. Get your movie-time snacks and join the zoom at 7:30 this Wednesday.

Corey Creekmur is jointly appointed in Cinematic Arts and English and is affiliated with the Department of Gener, Women's and Sexuality Studies. He is also affiliated with the South Asian Studies Program and directs the Institute for Cinema and Culture. His teaching and research focus on international popular cinema as well as popular discourses of race, gender, and sexuality. His work in American literature deals with popular genres as well, including detective fiction and comics.
